Agave Brownies

Whole wheat flour and agave nectar give these fluffy brownies an airier texture than a traditional brownie recipe.

  • 4 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup Born Sweet® Organic Golden 100% Blue Agave Sweetener
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips


Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
Note: this recipe can also be made in 2 pans 8 X 8- inch. Bake for 25-30 minutes

In mixer bowl, beat eggs for one minute on medium speed. Beat in agave nectars and vanilla, then melted butter.

In a separate bowl, sift dry ingredients. Stir dry ingredients into batter with chocolate chips just until combined. Spread evenly in prepared pan.

Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan and to crack slightly. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
